The Copenhagen Conference
Climate Change is a problem exceeding borders. Solutions must be found in a common effort between all nations and between all fields of knowledge. Therefore Energy Crossroads will host a conference in Copenhagen in March 2009, in anticipation of the UN Climate Summit (COP15). This Copenhagen Conference will bring together students from all fields and all nations. Here visionary speeches will create motivation, and a series of intense workshops will equip participants with practical skills to tackle Climate Change. The purpose of the Copenhagen Conference is to provide the students with a cross-disciplinary and cross-national understanding of energy-related subjects, resulting in a generation surpassing existing borders in a joint effort for a clean, prosperous, and secure energy future.
Energy Crossroads desires - with all our projects - not just to discuss solutions, but actually to try out and show new ways of doing things. Therefore this conference will fulfil its purposes not only through its thematic topics, but furthermore through its structural organisation.
We will do this through three interconnected platforms:
- Visionary, motivating key-note speeches
- Cross-national and cross-disciplinary workshops
- Concluding student presentations summarizing the outcome of the workshop
The goal of the Copenhagen Conference is to modify the future circumstances in terms of more interdisciplinary and global thinking, and therefore more interdisciplinary and global collaboration.
